Missioner Monday: Thursday Bible Study with St. Augustine’s Chapel and All Saints’ Sunday with Saint Alban’s Morehead
It was a delight to wade into the Gospel according to Matthew with the students at St. Augustine’s as they picked up in their ongoing Bible study. The students, led by Campus Minster, Rob Coulston, waded into all that the last half of Matthew 5 has to offer–no small feat! I’m grateful that they welcomed me into their study; getting to see our Holy Scriptures from the perspectives of college students will always be a joy to me! If you have a connection to UK, a passion for campus ministry and the faith of college students, please reach out to Rob so that he can connect you to the mission of St. A’s.
On Sunday, I got the opportunity to worship with the people of and preach at St. Alban’s. It was a joy to gather around not only God’s holy table, led in communion by the Rev. Mary Kilbourn Huey, but also to gather around pot-luck-filled tables after service. A full a joyful All Saints’ Sunday, capped off by the tradition of writing the name of those who have passed on red streamers and hanging them in front of the church. For all the saints who from their labor rest, may Jesus’ name be blessed! Alleluia!
