An inaugural meeting of the Tates Creek Church Coalition hosted by @tcpca, @graceunitedlex, and @fcpsky on Wednesday and the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost with St. Mary’s Episcopal Church.
Do you know that our best ministry efforts pull on our strengths, our communities strengths, weave them together, and try to make our weaknesses stronger? The good pastors Luke Rakestraw of Tates Creek Presbyterian and Dawn Webb of Grace United Episcopal Lutheran, are aware of this and have partnered with the leadership of the Fayette County School System to collectively address common needs, streamline our resources, and to better meet our neighbors. It was a great inaugural meeting of brainstorming ideas, sharing current offerings, and dreaming and planning about the future of the Tates Creek Church Coalition.
A beautiful Sunday morning in Middlesboro worshipping together in an absolutely beautiful space, and I’m still thinking about the beautiful Good Shepherd window and bright blue sky against the simple white church house. I preached about focusing on how we show up in our prayers and how God shows up for us. Worship was followed by a delicious and abundant coffee hour and great conversation, that I didn’t even get to grab any pictures of the quiches, donuts, and casseroles!
