This is by far one of my most favorite paintings. Every year my church pulls out a small set of paintings done by one of the members that displays fe 12 Stations of the Cross. This one, elicited some sort of emotional response that can only be expressed by pausing my breathing. There is such emotion that no matter what I feel about this religious narrative, I cannot help but see the magnatitude of the Jesus story. (Taken with instagram)
