A couple of Julys ago, I posted this article from Andrew Marin. I didn’t know who he was at the time, and I certainly didn’t know how much of his life is invested in recovering/rebuilding/creating a new bride from the homosexual community to the Christian one, but I loved this article, and I loved his take-aways from this Chicago Pride parade.

I heard Andrew Marin speak at the Wild Goose Festival this past June, he was part of a panel about homosexuality and the church with Tony Jones, Phyllis Tickle, and a gay priest who’s name I can’t recall. It was a great panel discussion. I didn’t realize it was the same guy who I admired and appreciated two years ago, but there was something about him that sort of captivated my attention. It might just be the way he looks paired with the message he’s speaking, but maybe something he said sparked a remembrance for me about this incident in 2010. It just now occured to me with something he put out on twitter today that this was the same guy as before.
Maybe this emergent, open-minded Christian circle is just really small right now, but it’s amazing how I can link almost every significant event through people’s suggestions.
