Good Grief

Sometimes I am so overwhelmed with grief for other people. This is in part due to the fact that I am an empathetic person and in part due to the fact that sometimes I just pay more attention to the world around me. I become concerned with the losses in people’s lives (whether jobs, houses, stuff, or friends), it’s hard for me to reign in the empathy when it gets rolling.
This is good though. These periods of my life make me grateful for my own, without being focused on myself. I talk to God more on behalf of these people (I’m a problem-solver…and sometimes that’s the only step I know to offer). I listen and absorb more, because usually people like that need an ear more than try need a mouth.
This is one is those seasons for me right now, a season of good grief, prayer, and a flowing of love.
